Nature, history, cultural traditions and stories, either real or imaginary,
inspire me to create fiber art. Much of my work utilizes color and figurative
imagery to educate, entertain, inspire and stimulate ideas and discussion.
As interest in textiles continues to grow I utilize stitching and improvisational
techniques to present the colors, rhythms and experiences of life. As a whole
I remain interested in presenting a visual journal of our times while acquainting
viewers with cultures and significant events experienced by several generations.
The diversity of this grand world we live in provides a wealth of inspiration.
The beauty and challenge of creating art is to involve the maker and the viewer.
With this in mind I am working steadily to hone my craft as I explore new topics
and a variety of materials from old photos and recycled clothing to African
prints, batiks, dyed fabrics, Indonesian , Indian, Australian fabrics, beads,
buttons, yarns and other found objects.
