These paintings honor pristine environments where every step
is a step into poetry and into the mystery and sacredness of life on this
planet.
Originally from Boston, I exhibited extensively in
the Boston area including the Boston Museum of Fine Arts, the DeCordeva
Museum, Grossman
Gallery and the Wang Center for the Performing Arts. While in Boston, my
paintings were also shown on CBS This Morning. I graduated from the School
of the Museum of Fine Arts as a Fifth Year Art Scholar, at which time, I
was awarded an Art Traveling Scholarship by the Boston Museum of Fine Arts.
With the traveling scholarship, I went to Florence, Italy to study the High
Renaissance artists, in particular, Leonardo da Vinci, whose work I have
always admired. After returning to Boston, I taught oil painting, drawing
and watercolor
at Tufts University, the School of the Museum of Fine Arts and the Wang
Center for the Performing Arts, as well as many private art workshops in
my studio.
Egyptian and Greek tomb and sarcophagus paintings have always
held a deep fascination for me. Consequently, I enrolled at Harvard University
for post-graduate study and for three years, I concentrated on ancient Mediterranean
cultures, most notably ancient Egyptian and Greek art and archaeology.
Other exhibitions outside the Northeast include the
Soruba Samadhi art gallery, which I owned, 16 Patton gallery and Deja View
Gallery.
My artwork is included in many public and private collections
throughout the United States, England, Australia, France, Germany and India.
